Government to Revitalize SDN Tanggirejo Grobogan

Indonesia's Ministry of Education, through its Directorate General of Early Childhood Education, Non-Formal Education, and Informal Education, is set to revitalize the State Elementary School (SDN) Tanggirejo in Grobogan Regency, Central Java. The school has been damaged since January 2026. The ministry has been coordinating with local government and school officials to expedite the revitalization process. Director General Gogot Suharwoto stated that the school is a priority under President Prabowo Subianto's administration, which aims to ensure quality education for all by improving school facilities to create safe and conducive learning environments. This year's revitalization program prioritizes schools affected by disasters, those in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions, and those with severe structural damage. Suharwoto expressed hope that the improvements would not only enhance the physical condition of the school but also boost students' enthusiasm for learning and improve educational quality. The government has set an ambitious target to revitalize 71,744 schools across Indonesia by 2026, encompassing renovations from kindergarten to high school levels. This figure significantly exceeds the initial target of 11,744 schools with a budget of Rp14 trillion. The program is managed through a self- pengelolaan mechanism, involving local communities and creating employment opportunities. It is estimated that approximately 1.1 million people will be employed for the revitalization of these schools over a period of three to eight months.
