Govt renews commitment to IMF-backed economic reforms

Nigeria's government has underscored its dedication to continuing its partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as it advances crucial fiscal and macroeconomic reforms. This commitment was highlighted during a farewell dinner in Abuja honoring the outgoing IMF Resident Representative in Nigeria, Dr. Christian Ebeke.

Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele lauded Ebeke as a "trusted partner" whose professionalism and constructive engagement were instrumental in bolstering cooperation between Nigeria and the IMF during a pivotal period of economic transition. The minister noted that Ebeke's three-year tenure coincided with the implementation of significant reforms designed to stabilize the economy, enhance government finances, build investor confidence, and establish a foundation for sustainable growth.
