Greek club Marko signs Moroccan striker Youssef El Arabi

Greek second-division club Marko announced on Saturday the high-profile signing of Moroccan striker Youssef El Arabi. The 39-year-old forward arrived in Greece in recent days to finalize his transfer and was warmly welcomed by Marko fans at Athens airport. El Arabi has chosen to wear the number 9 jersey for his new team.

El Arabi joins Marko as a free agent following the conclusion of his contract with French club Nantes. During his time with Nantes, he played 27 matches across various competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.

His previous spell in Greece with Olympiacos, from 2019 to 2024, was highly successful. He was instrumental in the team winning three Greek league titles and one Greek Cup. Notably, he also led Olympiacos to victory in the Europa Conference League. During his 225 appearances for Olympiacos, El Arabi netted 94 goals and registered 25 assists, cementing his status as one of the club's most prominent strikers in recent years.
