Grenades, guns and drugs worth millions seized from Sydney 'gang safehouse'

An alleged gang safe house in Sydney's south-west has been raided by police, resulting in the seizure of a significant cache of illegal weapons and drugs. Taskforce Falcon detectives discovered the haul during a compliance check for a firearm prohibition order at a home in Glenfield on Tuesday morning.

The operation uncovered six grenades, three semi-automatic assault rifles, four shotguns, a pistol, and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Alongside the firearms, police found 15 kilograms of cannabis and 6 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated street value of approximately $3 million. Electronic devices and $9,000 in cash were also confiscated from the property.

A 26-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. The man faces 27 charges, including multiple counts of possessing unregistered firearms and dealing with the proceeds of crime. He has been refused bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. The woman has been charged with assisting at a drug premises and was granted bail, with her court appearance set for August 27.
