Group of Climbers, Including Belarusians, Missing in Kyrgyzstan Mountains

A group of mountaineers, reportedly including two Belarusian citizens, has disappeared in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. The climbers lost contact after successfully navigating a challenging route on the Northern Ridge of Peak Kurumdy. A comprehensive search and rescue operation has been launched to locate the missing group.

The athletes last communicated with their operator on August 4th, confirming their ascent was complete and they were preparing to descend to the base camp. However, they failed to arrive at the designated control point at the scheduled time, and all communication ceased. Their current whereabouts remain unknown.

The Belarusian Federation of Mountaineering and Rock Climbing has formally requested assistance from their counterparts in the Kyrgyz Republic to aid in the search efforts. The situation highlights the inherent risks of high-altitude mountaineering and the critical importance of timely communication and rescue coordination in remote, challenging terrains.
