Guabirá falls to Independiente 3-1 after two own goals, drops in standings

Guabirá missed a significant opportunity to climb the league table after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Independiente in Sucre. The loss caused the team to drop from fourth to sixth place in the standings.

The match, part of the 17th round of the 'all against all' tournament, saw Guabirá take an early lead in the 20th minute. Pedro Cabral scored after a rebound from a shot that hit the post, capitalizing on an unguarded net to make it 1-0.

However, Independiente equalized in the 39th minute through an own goal by Guabirá. A quick counter-attack saw Willie Barbosa deliver a low cross that was deflected into Guabirá's net by Gilbert Álvarez and Ricky Añez. The second half saw Independiente complete their comeback. Gustavo Cristaldo scored in the 56th minute after a precise cross from Barbosa, putting the home side ahead 2-1.

The decisive blow came in the 69th minute when another Guabirá own goal, this time by Jorge Flores attempting to clear a cross, sealed the 3-1 victory for Independiente. While Guabirá had chances to equalize, they were unable to convert, ultimately paying the price for defensive errors.
