Guabirá looked set to win, but Real Potosí snatched a late draw

Guabirá appeared on course to end its winless run at the Gilberto Parada stadium, but Real Potosí spoiled the celebration at the finish. A late goal from Vladimir Castellón secured a 1-1 draw and left the home side lamenting two dropped points.

The match, played Saturday in Montero during the 18th round of Bolivia's Professional Division, began with Guabirá taking the initiative. Víctor Ábrego led the attack and created the first clear chance in the 17th minute, attempting a bicycle kick from inside the area after receiving a cross. His effort went straight to goalkeeper Cristian Martínez.

The first half offered little spectacle. Guabirá had more possession and territorial control, but struggled to create clear chances. Samuel Garzón later tested Martínez with a low shot, while Real Potosí stayed organized and looked for opportunities on the counterattack. The teams went into halftime scoreless.

Guabirá finally broke through in the 67th minute. Milciades Portillo won the ball in the air after a cross, and the rebound fell to Sergio Gil, who headed it into the net for a 1-0 lead. The home team then pushed for a second goal, but Mauro Barro failed to connect cleanly with a promising header.

Real Potosí had produced little in attack, yet found its chance late. After several rebounds inside the area, Castellón reacted first and finished past Manuel Ferrel to make it 1-1. Guabirá has now gone four matches without a victory, slowing its progress up the table.
