Gyeonggi Province opens applications for disability savings program

Gyeonggi Province is launching its 'Dream Account for Persons with Disabilities' for 2026, aiming to support the independent living of young adults with disabilities. The province is accepting applications from July 3 to July 31.

The program allows participants to save up to 100,000 won per month for 24 months. For each amount saved by the individual, Gyeonggi Province will provide a matching fund of the same value. Upon completion of the savings period, participants can expect to receive a total of approximately 5 million won, combining their savings and the province's contributions, along with interest.

Eligibility is limited to individuals residing in Gyeonggi Province who are classified as having severe disabilities under the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities. Applicants must be between 19 and 23 years old (born between 2003 and 2007). Unlike other asset-building support programs, the 'Dream Account' has lowered the eligibility threshold by considering only the degree of disability and age, without income or asset requirements.

Interested individuals can apply by visiting their local administrative welfare center. Direct applications are required, but immediate family members or household members can apply on behalf of the applicant if they are unable to visit in person. Those already enrolled in or having received benefits from similar asset-building support programs are not eligible to apply.
