Gyeongsangnam-do launches 'Gyeongnam Great Leap Preparation Team' ahead of governor's second term

Gyeongsangnam-do Province has established a 'Gyeongnam Great Leap Preparation Team' to systematically design the operational direction for Governor Park Wan-soo's second term in office. The team will function as an interim committee for the upcoming 9th provincial administration.

The preparation team will operate until June 30, with the possibility of extending its activities until July 20, after the official launch of the 9th administration. It consists of 28 members, including four external experts, 18 provincial officials proficient in practical work, and six researchers from the Gyeongnam Research Institute.

Although we did not name it an 'inauguration committee' because Governor Park Wan-soo was re-elected, we have formed a practical and efficient organization because there are far more pledges and policies to review than when the 8th administration was launched four years ago.

The external members include former provincial policy special advisor Lee Young-il, campaign spokesperson Yoo Hae-nam, former Gyeongnam FC director Jin Jung-won, and former provincial communication special advisor Kang Seok. These individuals are noted for their deep understanding of provincial administration. The supporting officials are primarily from the 4th and 5th grades, specializing in practical matters across five key areas: planning and coordination, industry and economy, construction and safety, social affairs, and agriculture and fisheries.

The team's primary objectives are to meticulously analyze the feasibility and policy effects of Governor Park Wan-soo's campaign pledges for his second term. They will also comprehensively review financial conditions and implementation schedules to refine these pledges into actionable policy tasks. Furthermore, the team will establish the vision and goals for the 9th provincial administration and identify core tasks for each sector, ensuring continuity and development from the previous administration's policies.
