Hacker group claims attack on Novo Nordisk, demands $25 million

A cybercrime group calling itself FulcrumSec claims it has successfully infiltrated the systems of Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk, potentially compromising sensitive information. The group alleges it accessed the company's networks for more than two months, exfiltrating approximately one terabyte of data.

According to reports citing the group's own statements, FulcrumSec is demanding a ransom of $25 million (approximately 160 million Danish kroner). The group has indicated it may sell parts of the stolen data on the dark web after Novo Nordisk allegedly refused to meet its financial demands. The stolen data reportedly includes confidential information about both approved and unreleased drugs, as well as details concerning employees, doctors, and patients.

Novo Nordisk has confirmed it is aware of the claims regarding unauthorized data extraction. A company spokesperson stated that they are taking the situation seriously, continuing normal operations, and are in contact with relevant authorities. Reuters has not yet been able to independently verify the authenticity of the data published by the hacker group.
