Haean Architecture Selected to Design Major Redevelopment of Seoul's Olympic Family Town

Haean Architecture has been chosen as the design firm for the major redevelopment of Olympic Family Town, a large residential complex in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The decision was finalized on July 22 during the second resident general meeting of the Olympic Family Town Redevelopment Promotion Committee. Haean Architecture secured the position by winning 2,004 votes, representing 72.2% of the total votes cast in the final round.

The redevelopment project is set to significantly increase the scale of the complex. Currently comprising 4,494 units, the transformed Olympic Family Town is planned to house approximately 6,700 units upon completion. The Promotion Committee aims to hold the inaugural general meeting for the new cooperative within the year, following the selection of the design firm. This marks a crucial step in the multi-year process of modernizing the aging complex.

Haean Architecture presented a design concept called 'PENTAFORET,' which integrates five key elements: asset value, landscaping, transportation, space, and infrastructure. A central feature of this concept is the 'Pentaforet Garden,' a linear park spanning approximately 70,000 pyeong (about 231,400 square meters), featuring five themed gardens and a roughly 9-kilometer network of walking trails. The firm has previously been selected for significant redevelopment projects in Seoul, including Mokdong 7th Complex and Daechi Mido.

A representative from Haean Architecture expressed commitment to refining the design to enhance asset value, living comfort, and project stability, reflecting the majority choice of the property owners. The project's success hinges on meticulous planning and execution to meet the diverse needs of the growing community.
