Haiti is grappling with a severe escalation of gang violence after a brutal attack on a farming community in Kenscoff, south of the capital Port-au-Prince, left at least 30 people dead. The deadly assault, which saw armed men set homes ablaze and kill residents, occurred late Sunday, according to officials.

Kenscoff's mayor, Jean Massillon, blamed the Viv Ansanm coalition for the chaos, noting that the group was designated a "foreign terrorist organisation" by the U.S. government last year.
