Haiti's Ministry of Public Works is shifting into emergency and prevention mode as the hurricane season approaches on June 1. Minister Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis has extended his assessment mission, traveling from Grande Anse to the Palmes region.

The ministry is implementing a continuous strategy to address these hydrographic challenges. This will involve immediate corrections to the most threatened riverbeds in the short term, followed by medium-term improvements to watershed management.
