Haiti: Post-harvest equipment donated to reduce losses and improve incomes

Haiti's Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) is actively working to enhance the agricultural sector through the implementation of the Resilient Agriculture Project for Food Security (PARSA).

A key component of PARSA involves strengthening the post-harvest management capabilities of producers. To achieve this, the ministry is distributing essential post-harvest equipment.

The goal of this initiative is twofold: to significantly reduce the substantial losses that occur after crops are harvested and to improve the overall income of farmers. By providing better tools and techniques for handling produce after it leaves the field, the project aims to create a more efficient and profitable agricultural value chain.

This effort underscores the ministry's commitment to building a more resilient food system in Haiti, where post-harvest challenges can often undermine the hard work of farmers and impact national food security.
