Hajduk fans shamefully insult Zlatko Dalić, Croatia's most successful coach

During a match between Varaždin and Hajduk in the first round of the SuperSport HNL, Hajduk's supporters shamefully directed insults at Zlatko Dalić, widely regarded as Croatia's most successful national team coach. The incident occurred in the second half of the game, which Varaždin won 2-1.

The offensive chants, "J*bo vas Dalić" (roughly translated as "Dalić can f*** you"), were heard from the Hajduk fans, known as the Torcida. These chants followed the display of a banner by the Torcida criticizing the conditions for visiting fans at the Varteks stadium. The banner read: "Repression under the guise of security, a cage in the stands is a trampling of humanity!"

Zlatko Dalić has a significant history with Varaždin, having spent a large part of his playing career there and later serving as the club's sporting director and coach. He has also been a key figure in supporting NK Varaždin, with club president Dražen Vitez previously stating that Dalić and Stjepan Cvek persuaded him to take on the role. Dalić's tenure as the national team coach has been marked by unprecedented success for Croatian football.
