Hajduk Split star Niko Sigur wants to leave, Celtic reportedly interested

Niko Sigur, considered one of Hajduk Split's top players, has reportedly expressed his wish to depart from the Croatian club. This development has put Scottish powerhouse Celtic on high alert, as the club, managed by experienced tactician Martin O'Neill, has identified Sigur as a primary transfer target.

According to reports from the Scottish portal Daily Record, the Canadian international is aware of Celtic's interest and has communicated his desire to move to his current club. This communication effectively gives Celtic the green light to initiate negotiations with Hajduk Split.

From Hajduk's perspective, a transfer could be mutually beneficial. The club is under pressure to sell at least one player to improve its financial standing, and Sigur represents a significant potential source of income. While Transfermarkt values the Canadian midfielder at four million euros, Hajduk would likely demand a higher fee given that he has two years remaining on his contract.
