Half of Turkey's seed triticale produced in Sivas; harvest begins

The harvest of seed triticale has commenced at the Ulaş Agricultural Enterprise in Sivas, a significant agricultural hub. This year's crop, cultivated across an expansive 14,796 decares, represents a substantial portion of Turkey's national seed triticale production.

Managed by the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM), the Ulaş facility plays a pivotal role in supplying the nation's agricultural sector. The triticale grown here is specifically designated as seed, underscoring its importance for future planting and crop yields across the country.

This year's harvest is particularly noteworthy as it accounts for approximately 50% of Turkey's total seed triticale output. The commencement of harvesting activities signals the successful culmination of the growing season for this vital crop, contributing significantly to the country's agricultural self-sufficiency and seed supply chain.
