Hamburg: Masked intruders break into home, man severely injured

A violent home invasion in Hamburg, Germany, has left a 51-year-old man seriously injured after several masked assailants stormed an apartment building. The incident occurred in the Bergedorf district, where the perpetrators are believed to have been searching for valuables.

According to police reports, two unknown women initially gained access to the multi-story building by deceiving an 83-year-old resident into opening the door. Once inside, multiple masked men pushed past her and proceeded to the upper floor. There, they confronted the 51-year-old resident, threatening him with a knife and demanding that he surrender his valuables.

During the confrontation, the victim sustained severe injuries. The assailants fled the scene in an unknown direction after the attack. The injured man was transported to a hospital for treatment. At the time of the report, it remained unclear how many individuals were involved or if they managed to steal any items.

Authorities have launched an extensive manhunt for the suspects. More than a dozen police patrol cars, a police helicopter, and specialized units including police dog handlers have been deployed in the search. The police are working to identify the perpetrators and recover any stolen property.
