During the meeting, attended by legislators from various parties and representatives from the American Institute in Taiwan, Han emphasized the bipartisan support Taiwan receives from the U.S. Congress. He noted that U.S. legislative actions have bolstered Taiwan's self-defense capabilities and contributed to peace in the Taiwan Strait and the Indo-Pacific. Han pointed to the recent legislative approval of a special defense budget in Taiwan as a testament to the shared commitment to national security.

The discussion also touched upon Taiwan's ongoing efforts to advance drone-related legislation, with hopes for enhanced Taiwan-U.S. cooperation in drone technology, advanced tech, and supply chain resilience. Han highlighted the rapid growth in bilateral trade, reaching $256 billion in 2025 and showing a 64% increase in the first five months of this year. He stressed the importance of like-minded nations collaborating to protect universal values such as democracy, freedom, human rights, and the rule of law.
