The technique, as reported by Blic, requires no purchases or extensive cleaning sessions. It involves turning all hangers in the closet to face the same direction. After wearing an item, washing it, and returning it to the closet, the hanger for that item is turned to face the opposite direction.

Over a period of one to two months, this simple action provides a clear visual inventory of frequently used clothing. Items remaining on hangers in their initial position indicate they haven't been worn during the test period.

While items not used in a short span don't necessarily need immediate disposal, considering seasonal wear like winter coats in summer or occasional formal attire, the method aids in deciding what is truly worth keeping.
