Hannah Green eyes second major title at happy hunting ground

Australian golfer Hannah Green is back at Hazeltine Country Club, the venue where she secured her first major championship seven years ago, with aspirations of adding another major title to her name. Now ranked world No. 8 and having already achieved four victories this season, Green feels she is in career-best form. She anticipates feeling more pressure and nerves than during her initial major win, acknowledging that such feelings are a normal part of competing at the highest level. "If I were in the same position again, even now with my experience, I would probably be more nervous because I want to win even more than I did back then," Green shared ahead of the tournament. She recalled specific shots from her 2019 victory, like a bunker shot on the 18th hole, as particularly memorable. Green also noted that she hits the ball significantly further now than she did seven years ago. However, she believes her putting will be crucial on Hazeltine's challenging greens. "I putted really, really well that week, and that's kind of the key here at Hazeltine," she said. Green will be grouped with world No. 1 Nelly Korda and South Korean star Sei Young Kim for the opening rounds. She joins a strong contingent of Australian golfers, including defending champion Minjee Lee, competing for a record-breaking winner's prize.
