Hannover's Daisuke Yokota transfers to Glasgow Rangers

Daisuke Yokota is set to leave Hannover 96 for Scottish powerhouse Glasgow Rangers, the German second-division club announced. The 26-year-old Japanese attacker had been on loan from Belgian side KAA Gent, with Hannover exercising their purchase option this summer.

According to reports from the "Neue Presse," Hannover will receive an immediate payment of 3.5 million euros, with potential bonus agreements bringing the total to 4 million euros. The club did not comment on the specific financial details of the deal.

Hannover's managing director, Jonas Boldt, stated that the club acknowledged Yokota's desire to play for a top-tier team. "We were aware that he has a market and that his own goal is to play for a first-division club if possible. We took this wish seriously," Boldt said. He added that Hannover would not have let him go at any price, only under conditions that aligned with their expectations.

Last season, Yokota was a key player for Hannover, which narrowly missed promotion to the Bundesliga. He played in 30 league matches, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
