Hanoi guides new home pension payments

Hanoi authorities have introduced new guidelines to facilitate the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits directly at recipients' homes. This initiative is specifically designed to assist individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and those with health conditions who find it challenging to travel to complete payment procedures.

The new directive, issued via an official dispatch, outlines a streamlined process for beneficiaries to complete necessary paperwork, including power of attorney arrangements, at their place of residence. The Hanoi Public Service Center will prioritize assisting citizens with these documents. Additionally, interdisciplinary task forces will continue to operate, offering guidance and accepting applications at local community points.

For eligible recipients who are elderly, have disabilities, or are otherwise unable to travel, service units will arrange for procedures to be completed at home, ensuring timely pension and social insurance payments. The Public Service Center will compile lists and power of attorney documents to be transferred to the postal service for processing by the social insurance agency. This aims to reduce the need for beneficiaries to make multiple trips.

The Hanoi People's Committee has also instructed district-level authorities to collaborate with the Public Service Center, social insurance agencies, and postal services to identify and support individuals requiring home-based assistance. Public awareness campaigns will be conducted through various channels to inform citizens about the validity of power of attorney documents and encourage proactive submission of necessary paperwork, in accordance with social insurance laws.
