Hansol Technics Sells Ochang Factory for $46 Million to Streamline Business

Hansol Technics, a key affiliate of the Hansol Group specializing in electronic components and materials, is divesting its Ochang factory located in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. The company announced on the 5th that it has decided to transfer the Ochang facility to Cosmecca Korea, a firm focused on original development manufacturing (ODM) for cosmetics.

The transaction is valued at 64 billion won (approximately $46 million USD). The Ochang plant has historically been the primary site for the production of solar modules. This strategic sale marks a significant move by Hansol Technics to optimize its operational structure and potentially reallocate resources towards more profitable or strategically aligned ventures.

Cosmecca Korea, the acquiring company, is known for its expertise in cosmetic manufacturing. The acquisition of the Ochang facility, which was a major solar module production site, suggests Cosmecca Korea may be looking to expand its manufacturing capacity or diversify its product lines. The buyer's existing operations are based in Eumseong, also within North Chungcheong Province, indicating a potential consolidation of manufacturing activities within the region.
