Hanyang University Launches 'Hanyang YK Intercollege' Named After Donor Yong Ki Lee

Hanyang University has officially launched its newly established Hanyang YK Intercollege, marking the occasion with a special lecture by alumnus Yong Ki Lee and an unveiling ceremony. The college, previously known as Hanyang Intercollege, was renamed to incorporate 'YK' in honor of Lee, the founder of A&E Christian Foundation and TRUaire, who is also an alumnus of the university.

This renaming is significant as it marks the first time a South Korean university has dedicated a college's name to a donor. Lee, who immigrated to the U.S. and built TRUaire into a leading HVAC company, embodies the spirit of global leadership and integrated education that Hanyang YK Intercollege aims to cultivate. His continuous support for his alma mater stems from a desire to see Korean students succeed in the global market.

Hanyang YK Intercollege and Chairman Lee Yong Ki have become a community of fate sharing honor through 'YK'. Lee not only provided financial support but also shared his entrepreneurial experience and insights with students. During a lecture attended by over 200 freshmen, he spoke on "Success That Leaves People, A Life That Shares Value." The session included extensive Q&A, fostering a connection between the successful alumnus and the aspiring students, signaling the start of an ongoing mentorship.

The university also held an "Enshrinement Ceremony for Yong Ki Lee in the Hall of Fame" and an "Embossing Unveiling Ceremony" at the college's educational space to commemorate Lee's spirit of "practicing love" and the collaborative relationship between the university and its alumni. University President Lee Ki-jeong expressed his commitment to supporting Hanyang YK Intercollege as a source of pride for alumni worldwide, ensuring that students' success stories become a lasting legacy.
