Haredi protests continue as demonstrators block Jerusalem roads, gather outside of A-G's home

Jerusalem District Police and Border Police soldiers are actively working to clear roads and restore order as haredi ultra-Orthodox protests continue to disrupt traffic across the Jerusalem area. The disturbances, reported Monday night, are occurring on major streets including Bar-Ilan Street, Haim Bar-Lev Boulevard, and Yehuda Hanasi Boulevard in Beit Shemesh.

Protesters have been throwing objects, blocking traffic, and refusing to comply with police instructions. Authorities attempted to disperse demonstrators by placing a placard at the scene, but participants did not respond. Police forces remain engaged to keep roads open and maintain public order.

Simultaneously, members of the Gur Hasidic community have gathered outside the residence of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, chanting "Consult and then act." This action follows earlier protests on Monday where hundreds of Gur Hassidic demonstrators gathered outside Military Prison 10 in Beit Lid to protest the arrest of a seminary student who had failed to comply with an army recruitment order.

The protests are part of a broader wave of demonstrations by the haredi community against the mandatory draft of yeshiva students into the Israeli army, a deeply contentious issue within the community.
