HCM City University of Technology Announces 2026 Admissions Bonus Points

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), part of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, has unveiled its criteria for awarding bonus points in its 2026 undergraduate admissions.

The university will offer up to 10 bonus points to students who demonstrate outstanding achievements across various fields, including academics, arts, sports, and social engagement, as well as those holding international certifications. These points can significantly enhance a candidate's competitiveness and chances of admission.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Thang, Head of the Training Department, these bonus points are integrated into the comprehensive admission formula, alongside academic performance and priority points. He emphasized that exceptional achievements throughout high school are crucial factors for increasing admission opportunities.

The bonus points are categorized into three groups: 'award points' (up to 10 points) for students eligible for direct admission but choosing not to use it, 'recognition points' (up to 5 points) for outstanding academic or extracurricular achievements, and 'incentive points' (up to 5 points) for holders of international language certificates (excluding English) or IT certifications like MOS and IC3. The total bonus points will not exceed 10% of the maximum score on the admission scale.
