Health Ministry Disputes Ex-Minister on Healthcare Staffing, Cites Timișoara Needs

Romania's Ministry of Health has refuted criticisms from former minister Alexandru Rogobete concerning the distribution of unblocked positions within the national healthcare system. The ministry asserts that the allocation process was transparent and equitable, directly addressing the former minister's claims.

According to the Ministry, Timișoara County Hospital has received twice the number of unblocked positions compared to Bihor County Hospital. This disparity, the ministry explains, is a direct result of the needs and requests submitted by the hospitals themselves, alongside available budgetary resources. The distribution was not arbitrary but followed a defined procedure based on documented requirements.

The Ministry of Health maintains that its decisions regarding the unblocking and distribution of positions are guided by objective criteria. These include the specific demands transmitted by healthcare facilities, the assessed necessity for personnel, and the financial capacity available. This approach aims to ensure that resources are directed where they are most critically needed within the healthcare network.
