Heat and strong winds - weather forecast in Kazakhstan for June 22

Kazakhstan is bracing for a day of extreme heat and challenging weather conditions on Monday, June 22. According to storm warnings issued by Kazhydromet, temperatures are forecast to soar to between 35 and 42 degrees Celsius in most regions. Accompanying the heat will be strong winds, with gusts expected to reach 23–28 meters per second in several areas. The Abai region, for instance, will experience northerly and northeasterly winds reaching 15-20 meters per second, with gusts up to 23 meters per second, while daytime temperatures hit 35-38 degrees. In the western, northern, and central parts of the country, similar high temperatures are predicted, with some areas like Semey reaching 35 degrees. The combination of intense heat and dry conditions has led to a persistent high fire risk across Kazakhstan. Several regions, including western, northeastern, and southern areas, are facing an extreme fire hazard. In the Akmola region, while some western areas might see rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon, extreme heat of 35-38 degrees is expected, with high fire danger in the center and extreme hazard in the east. Similar weather patterns, including potential rain, thunderstorms, and hail, are forecast for various regions like Aktobe, Almaty, and Atyrau, though high temperatures and fire risks remain prevalent.
