Heavy Traffic on Serbian Highways, AMSS Warns Drivers

The Automobile Association of Serbia (AMSS) has issued a warning regarding increased traffic on the country's highways, particularly noting a rise in vehicles with foreign license plates. The association highlights that many of these vehicles are driven by individuals who have already covered hundreds of kilometers and may be experiencing fatigue, posing a potential safety risk.

To mitigate these risks, AMSS strongly advises drivers to exercise caution. Recommendations include avoiding haste and maintaining increased distances between vehicles. This approach allows for safer reactions to sudden and unexpected hazardous situations that may arise on the road.

Beyond the general highway traffic, specific delays are being reported at border crossings. Passenger vehicles face waits of approximately one hour when exiting the country at Batrovci and about 20 minutes when entering at Gradina. The situation is more critical for trucks, with waiting times of three hours at Šid and four hours at Batrovci for vehicles leaving Serbia.
