Help name Everland's newest panda cub: Jubao, Junbao, Linbao, Yubao, or Subao?

South Korea's beloved pandas at Everland are welcoming a new member, and the public is invited to help choose the name for the youngest cub. A naming event is underway, featuring five potential names: Jubao, Junbao, Linbao, Yubao, and Subao. These names carry meaningful Korean interpretations, such as 'precious treasure like a pearl or jewel' for Jubao and 'treasure bright like the dawn light' for Subao.

The selection process began with a public comment event on Everland's online channels, which garnered over 10,000 suggestions. A special 'Naming Selection Committee,' composed of Everland veterinarians and staff, narrowed down the options to the final five candidates. Now, the public has the chance to cast their votes through the Everland app or directly at Panda World.

The youngest panda cub, born on June 3 to parents Ai Bao and Le Bao, is the sibling to the famous Fu Bao and the twin sisters Rui Bao and Hui Bao. The cub has grown significantly since birth, now weighing approximately 3.7 kilograms, about 20 times its birth weight of 171 grams. Its growth and development are being closely monitored and shared with the public.

The official name will be announced on September 30, coinciding with the cub's 100th day celebration. To add excitement to the event, Everland is offering attractive prizes for participants. Twenty-one lucky voters will be randomly selected to win rewards such as a trip to a Chinese panda base, an invitation to the cub's 100-day celebration, exclusive merchandise featuring the baby panda's footprints, and Everland admission tickets.

The naming of the new cub is highly anticipated, especially following the immense popularity of its older sister, Fu Bao. The chosen name is expected to play a role in the cub's future public identity and connection with its fans.
