Henry Dannell arranges £5.22 million mortgage for footballer moving to Premier League

A European footballer in his early 20s has secured a £5.22 million mortgage to buy a £5.8 million UK property before relocating to join an English Premier League club for the 2026/27 season.

Henry Dannell Private Clients arranged the financing after the player signed a new six-year contract but remained overseas and had not yet started the agreement. The structure allowed him to complete the purchase while limiting the amount of personal capital he put into the transaction.

The case required a lending package that could account for future earnings and international circumstances. Henry Dannell described the deal as an example of the specialist advice needed by internationally mobile clients whose assets, careers and financial arrangements cross borders.

Kem Kemal, the firm's CEO and co-founder, said London continued to attract international talent despite recent economic and political uncertainty. He pointed to the Premier League's global reach and said players were coming to the UK with their families, buying homes and establishing their lives there.

Kemal called the trend positive for the country during debate over Britain's ability to attract international wealth and talent. He said footballers who could build their lives in many places were still choosing to come to the UK, invest there and make it home.
