Hidalgo files 95 corruption complaints, recovers nearly 500 million pesos

Hidalgo state authorities have initiated roughly 95 corruption-related legal actions and recovered close to 500 million pesos in public funds during the current administration, according to the state comptroller's office.

Of the total complaints, 42 specifically target suppliers and former public servants across seven state departments, three organizations, and 10 municipalities. These investigations are linked to an estimated 2.4 billion pesos. Some cases remain under active investigation by the State Attorney General's Office, with the comptroller's office providing supporting evidence.

Additionally, 30 complaints have been filed concerning irregularities in public works projects, identified during municipal handover processes. In 2024, Hidalgo recorded 1,712 complaints against public officials, ranking fourth nationwide, with 1,325 deemed valid. The state maintains ongoing surveillance of public infrastructure through auditors, engineers, architects, quality control labs, and citizen committees.
