High-Paying Jobs Available on Croatia's Vis Island, Including Housing Support

An attractive job opportunity has emerged on the Croatian island of Vis, offering a substantial salary and housing assistance. The Geopark Viški arhipelag public institution is actively recruiting an executive director to lead the UNESCO Global Geopark located in Komiža. This role comes with a gross monthly salary of 3,600 euros and a monthly subsidy of 400 euros for housing costs.

The mandate for the executive director is set for four years, with a six-month probationary period. The institution is seeking a responsible, proactive, and motivated individual capable of managing the institution's operations, leading a team, developing new partnerships, and securing funding sources. The core objective is to strengthen the Vis archipelago's position within the UNESCO World Geoparks Network by integrating its geological, natural, and cultural heritage with the local community, fostering sustainable development, education, economy, and tourism.

This position involves maintaining facilities, public areas, and equipment, performing minor construction, locksmith, and carpentry tasks, tending to green spaces, installing and repairing equipment, assisting with event organization, and responding to emergencies such as storms. The handyman role offers a gross salary of 2,100 euros.

Candidates for the handyman position must possess at least a vocational qualification (PKV), one year of relevant experience, a Category B driver's license, a certificate of no criminal record, and general health fitness.
