High school student stabbed on report card day dies in Gaziantep

A 10th-grade student in Gaziantep has died after being fatally stabbed during a brawl that erupted following a school report card distribution ceremony. Çağlar Gönülalan was seriously injured when he was stabbed in the chest during the altercation between two groups of students at Vadi Park in the Batıkent neighborhood.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following the incident. Gönülalan was transported by ambulance to Gaziantep University Hospital, where medical teams attempted to save his life. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, identified as Halil A., a 12th-grade student, was taken into custody. Following legal procedures, he was brought before a court and subsequently remanded in prison pending the ongoing investigation into the incident.

Çağlar Gönülalan's body was taken to the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy. Afterward, it was handed over to his relatives for burial in the Başçeşme neighborhood of Pazarcık district in Kahramanmaraş.
