Historic World Cup Point for Curaçao Thanks to Heroic Goalkeeper Eloy Room

Curaçao made history on Saturday night, earning its first World Cup point with a determined 0-0 draw against Ecuador in Kansas City. The result, achieved under the guidance of coach Dick Advocaat, was largely thanks to a heroic performance from goalkeeper Eloy Room.

From the opening minutes, Ecuador pressed for an early goal, but the 37-year-old Room, who has played for clubs like Vitesse and PSV, was a formidable barrier. Despite late Ecuadorian pushes, including the introduction of four center forwards, they could not find the net.
