Hit-and-Run Driver Kills 23-Year-Old Near Rome

Tragedy struck in Guidonia Montecelio, near Rome, when a speeding car struck two young men walking along the roadside late at night, then fled the scene. The incident resulted in the death of one of the victims.

The two 23-year-old men had reportedly just left a local establishment when the vehicle swerved and hit them. Despite immediate attempts by emergency medical personnel to revive him, one student succumbed to his injuries. The other victim sustained injuries and is receiving medical attention.

Carabinieri from the Guidonia station have launched an investigation into the fatal hit-and-run. They are actively collecting evidence, including reviewing surveillance camera footage from the area and interviewing potential witnesses, in an effort to identify and apprehend the driver responsible for the collision and subsequent escape.
