A history and law teacher in Nurobod, Tajikistan, has detailed an alleged assault and threats by the brother of a 5th-grade student. Mukhimjon Rahmonov, who teaches at School No. 1, claims the incident occurred on May 8 after he spoke to the student's brother, Mirali Orzuyev, about his sister's lack of academic engagement.

Rahmonov told Asia-Plus that Orzuyev initially threatened him over the phone before confronting him later that evening. According to the teacher, Orzuyev, accompanied by another man named Bakhtovar Saidulloyev, allegedly dragged him into a car and proceeded to beat him, striking him in the lower back and abdomen. Rahmonov identified Saidulloyev as a public servant, though these claims could not be independently verified.

While Orzuyev reportedly told Radio Ozodi that he did not beat the teacher but merely spoke with him, Rahmonov insists the assault took place. The teacher reported the incident to the school director on May 11, after which he claims the student's father began issuing threats over the phone.
