Ho Chi Minh City fines Tuyet Chinh dental clinic more than $93,000 and suspends license

Ho Chi Minh City's health authorities have fined Tuyet Chinh dental clinic more than 93 million Vietnamese dong and suspended its operating license for three months.

The Department of Health said the clinic failed to display its name and did not meet required operating conditions. It also used practitioners without professional certificates and provided treatment beyond the scope allowed by its license, except in emergencies.

The clinic was additionally accused of failing to keep medical records in the legally required format and advertising healthcare services without stating the professional scope listed on its operating license. It must remove the incomplete advertisements. The professional certificate of the person responsible for the clinic's technical work was suspended for two months.

The administrative action follows a separate court case involving clinic owner Nguyễn Thị Tuyết Chinh. A local court sentenced her to two years in prison, suspended, after an altercation at the clinic involving a former orthodontic patient.

The patient, Nguyễn Thị Tiền Thảo, paid 20 million dong for braces in 2021. After the braces were removed five years later, she experienced tooth pain and sought a resolution. The account said Chinh rejected the claim that the treatment was defective. During a confrontation at the clinic in September 2025, Chinh allegedly pressed an object against Thảo's neck, held her down on a sofa and threw her phone after taking it. A video posted online drew public attention, and Chinh was prosecuted for disturbing public order.
