Ho Chi Minh City leader honors war heroes on Martyrs' Day

Ho Chi Minh City's top Party official, Tran Luu Quang, led a solemn delegation on July 27 to the city's Martyrs Cemetery. The visit, on the 79th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs, honored the sacrifices of Vietnamese heroes and fallen soldiers.

Accompanied by military leaders, including Lieutenant General Tran Vinh Ngoc, and representatives from various city departments, Quang laid incense and flowers. The delegation paid tribute to Vietnamese heroic mothers and martyrs who died for the nation's independence, reunification, and defense.

A wreath bearing the inscription "Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee forever remembers the heroes and martyrs" expressed deep gratitude for their contributions. The ceremony emphasized that millions of Vietnamese have sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom and the people's happiness, creating the current peace and unity.

Officials vowed to uphold the revolutionary tradition, remain loyal to the Party and State, and contribute to national construction and defense. Other delegations, led by city deputy party secretaries, also paid respects at different martyrs' cemeteries across the region, including Cu Chi and Binh Duong.
