Parents in Ho Chi Minh City are on alert following a series of suspicious phone calls offering to provide personal identification numbers and electronic hồ sơ mã số for students applying for 10th grade. These calls, often from unknown numbers, have caused concern among parents who suspect they are part of a scam.

One parent, Ms. Le Thi Kim from Phu Nhuan district, recounted receiving a call from someone claiming to be a teacher, requesting the electronic hồ sơ mã số to update student records for the 10th-grade entrance exams. Suspicious about the timing and the caller's vague responses, she grew wary. Similar reports have emerged from parents at a secondary school in Tan Dinh ward, where many whose children are preparing for the crucial 10th-grade exams have been contacted by unknown numbers.

Ms. Nguyen Doan Trang, Principal of Tran Van On Secondary School in Tan Dinh, confirmed awareness of these calls and has alerted teachers to warn parents. She emphasized that all necessary procedures for the 10th-grade entrance exams were finalized long ago and that any official communication would come directly from homeroom teachers. "All calls asking for information are scams," she stated, stressing that official school channels are the sole source of reliable information.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training echoed these warnings, advising parents to exercise extreme caution.
