Ho Chi Minh City Postpones September Pension Payments Due to National Holiday

Pension and social insurance payments in Ho Chi Minh City will be delayed this September. The Social Insurance Agency announced that the usual payment schedule is shifting due to the extended National Day holiday. The holiday runs for five days, from August 29th to September 2nd, with employees returning to work on Thursday, September 3rd.

For those receiving payments directly into their bank accounts, the funds will be transferred on September 3rd. Recipients who prefer cash payments will receive their benefits starting September 10th from post office branches. Payments will continue at post offices through September 23rd.

This September, the agency will disburse payments to 360,220 individuals. A significant majority, 349,351 people, already receive their benefits via personal bank accounts, representing 96.98% of recipients. The agency is actively promoting the use of bank accounts, highlighting the benefits of speed, convenience, and safety. This aligns with the national push towards cashless transactions and aims to improve service efficiency by leveraging the national population database.
