Ho Hsin-chun Holds Major Taichung Rallies; Ex-DPP Chair Hsu Hsin-liang to Attend

With just four months remaining until the year-end local elections, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate for Taichung mayor, Ho Hsin-chun, is intensifying her campaign efforts. Two significant rallies are scheduled for July 26 in her home base of Taichung.

The first event, a party cadre inauguration ceremony organized by the Taichung City Party Department in Dali, will feature a grand entrance for Ho, signaling a show of strength. The second, an evening rally in Wufeng titled "Support Taiwan, Protect Democracy," will include prominent figures such as Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung and Legislator Wang Yi-chuan.

A notable attendee at the Wufeng rally will be former DPP Chairman Hsu Hsin-liang. Hsu, a respected elder statesman of the party known for his strategic acumen, has maintained good relations with the DPP despite a long absence from public political activities. His presence is seen as a significant show of support for Ho's campaign.

These rallies are crucial for Ho as she seeks to consolidate support in her stronghold. While local elections are approaching, discussions about the 2028 presidential election have frequently surfaced, causing concern among some DPP supporters.
