Hochtief to build multi-million euro data center for NTT in Berlin

The construction group Hochtief has secured a significant contract to build a new data center in Berlin for NTT Global Data Centres. The project's value is estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of euros, signaling continued investment in digital infrastructure.

Construction is slated to begin in summer 2026, with the initial halls expected to be handed over in 2028 and the entire facility completed by 2029. Hochtief will undertake the construction with a specialized team from its Hochtief Infrastructure and Dornan divisions. The development includes a three-story data center building and an adjacent four-story office complex.

This contract underscores a robust and sustained demand for data center capacity within Germany. Hochtief CEO Juan Santamaría noted the company's strong position to support the expansion of digital infrastructure. The company has seen substantial growth in this sector, securing 16.8 billion euros in new data center orders last year alone, which now constitutes 21 percent of its total order backlog. Hochtief is majority-owned by the Spanish infrastructure group ACS and was recently included in the German DAX index.
