Holstein Kiel loans striker Marcus Müller to third-division club

Holstein Kiel, a club competing in Germany's second division, has decided to loan out striker Marcus Müller to SV Wehen Wiesbaden, a team in the 3. Liga.

The 24-year-old forward will play for Wiesbaden for the rest of the current season. Müller arrived at Kiel last summer from Osnabrück. During his time with Kiel, he participated in 25 official matches, though he was frequently utilized as a substitute rather than a starter.

Kevin Meinhardt, the sporting director for Holstein Kiel (KSV), explained the rationale behind the loan move. "Together, we have therefore come to the conclusion that a loan to the Third League is the best way to enable him to take the next step in his development," Meinhardt stated.

The decision reflects a common practice in professional football aimed at providing younger players with consistent game time, which is crucial for their growth and progression within the sport. The loan to a third-division club is expected to offer Müller more opportunities to play regularly and hone his skills.
