Homeplus to Reopen 67 Core Stores with 200 Billion Won Emergency Funding

Homeplus is set to reopen 67 of its core stores that are currently closed for temporary operations. The company will proceed with the reopening as soon as it secures 200 billion won in emergency funding. A substantial part of these funds is earmarked for purchasing merchandise to resume sales.

This move comes after the Seoul Rehabilitation Court reversed its earlier decision to terminate the rehabilitation proceedings. The court has extended the deadline for approving the rehabilitation plan until September 4, providing Homeplus with a crucial window to normalize its operations.

The company plans to allocate a significant portion of the emergency funds towards restocking merchandise, ensuring that the reopened stores can resume normal business activities promptly. The financial injection is critical for Homeplus to navigate its current rehabilitation process and regain stability.
