Honda's Sporty Electric Mini-Car Super-ONE Launches in Australia with High Demand

Honda is set to launch its sporty electric mini-car, the Super-ONE, in Australia, with pre-orders already indicating strong market interest. The vehicle starts at AUD 36,900 (approximately NT$840,000) and has garnered over 6,500 purchase intentions during its pre-sale period, outperforming initial interest in the performance-oriented Civic Type R.

The Super-ONE builds on the Super EV Concept, featuring an aggressive exterior design with flared wheel arches, a redesigned front bumper with vertical air ducts, and 15-inch aerodynamic wheels. A rear spoiler adds to its sporty aesthetic. Inside, the cabin is enhanced with new sports seats upholstered in a suede-like material with a distinctive white, black, and blue color scheme. The car also comes standard with a BOSE premium sound system.

Mechanically, the Super-ONE is equipped with a single-motor front-wheel-drive system. It produces 64 horsepower normally, which can be boosted to 94 horsepower. The car includes features like simulated gear shifts and an active sound control system to enhance the driving experience. Weighing just 1,090 kilograms, it aims to deliver an engaging drive, characteristic of Honda's focus on handling fun. The 29.6 kWh battery provides an estimated range of 206 kilometers and supports 50 kW DC fast charging, allowing an 80% charge in about 30 minutes.
