Honda Vario 160 2026 information leaks: Refined looks, CBS and ABS options

Details emerging from the Jakarta automotive registration system indicate that Honda is preparing to launch an updated version of its Vario 160 scooter for the 2026 model year. The registration of the new model on May 22nd suggests that Honda has completed the necessary legal procedures for its official release in Indonesia.

Previously, rumors suggested Honda was developing a major upgrade for the Vario 160, internally codenamed K2SM. However, Indonesian media reports suggest this upcoming model is more likely to be a minor facelift rather than a complete overhaul. The scooter is expected to feature subtle refinements to its bodywork, potentially giving it a sleeker or sportier appearance.

The registration data revealed two specific codes for the new Vario 160: X1H02N32L1 AT and X1H02N32L3 AT. Following Honda's product coding conventions, the 'L3' suffix typically denotes an ABS variant, while 'L1' indicates a CBS (Combi Brake System) version. This suggests the 2026 Honda Vario 160 will continue to be offered in both CBS and ABS configurations, similar to the current model.

Beyond the Vario 160, the registration database also provided glimpses of other upcoming Honda models for 2026. The Honda Stylo 160 ABS, identified by code X1H02Q33L3 AT, is expected to remain in production in Indonesia, possibly with minor updates. Additionally, the underbone motorcycle Honda Sonic 150R, listed with code Y3B02R17L0 MT, has reappeared, indicating Honda has no immediate plans to discontinue this model.

Honda also registered three new codes for the Monkey 125 – Z125MAN, Z125MAS, and Z125MAT. Indonesian media speculates these could represent new color options or special editions for the imported minibike. While Honda Indonesia has not yet announced an official launch date for the 2026 Vario 160, its appearance in the registration system suggests its market debut may be imminent.
