Hong Hai Wins Bid for Taoyuan MRT Station Development Project

Taoyuan is accelerating its urban development through significant advancements in its MRT station projects. The city has awarded the development rights for the Airport MRT A10 Shanbi station to the Hong Hai Guang He Alliance, with a contract signing expected soon. This project, located on a 1,513-ping site near the station, is planned to feature a 12-story mixed-use building for commerce and residences, aiming to boost the Shanbi area's commercial growth.

MRT is not just a means of transportation, but also carries the important task of driving urban development.

The city is also pushing forward with the MRT Green Line G15a Guolin station development. This project, situated on a 1,125-ping site adjacent to the Guolin land readjustment area, will involve a 12-story mixed-use building. The Guolin station's development is strategically positioned within the Aerotropolis, anticipating it will become a landmark and enhance living amenities for the surrounding industrial population.

Through TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) combined with private resources, it will further drive urban prosperity and transformation.

Mayor Zhang Shanzheng emphasized that MRT development extends beyond mere transportation, serving as a crucial driver for urban growth. He highlighted these two projects as key milestones, leveraging TOD principles to integrate public transport with private investment. The Guolin station project alone is expected to attract approximately 1.4 billion NT dollars in private investment, with the city anticipating a net benefit of 950 million NT dollars to support future MRT construction.

The A10 development project will feature a 12-story mixed-use building for shopping and residences, which is expected to drive the overall commercial development of the Shanbi area.

The Shanbi station area is already seeing development, with new housing projects attracting buyers from nearby areas due to its convenient access to the Airport MRT. The proximity to the Aerotropolis industrial zone, with planned large-scale industrial and development projects, further enhances the area's future prospects. The mayor stressed that while MRT construction requires substantial investment, its benefits, including enhanced transportation and stimulated urban development, far outweigh the direct financial costs.
