Hong Kong's first Chinese medicine hospital to offer inpatient services in December

Hong Kong's inaugural Chinese medicine hospital is set to expand its services by launching inpatient care starting December 11. The Tseung Kwan O facility, which commenced operations last December, will transition from offering only outpatient and day-patient services to providing 24-hour inpatient treatment.

Authorities announced the commencement of inpatient services on Tuesday. However, the cost of these new services will be notably higher than current public hospital options. Fees for inpatient care at the Chinese Medicine Hospital are expected to be around three times the cost of similar services at public institutions.

This expansion marks a significant step for traditional Chinese medicine in Hong Kong, offering a new avenue for integrated healthcare. The hospital aims to provide comprehensive care, combining traditional practices with modern medical approaches, though the pricing structure may influence accessibility for some patients.
